#StandOutsideTheStatic is a movement to challenge hate, foster inclusion, and demand accountability.
The “static” symbolizes the noise of hate, division, and harmful norms perpetuated by flawed systems. The #SOS acronym stands for Stand Outside the Static. It is a universal call for help. It serves as a reminder that the time to act is now.
With the U.S. government threatening to roll back progressive policies on inclusion and gender equity, and erase recognition of Trans rights, President Trump promises it will get worse. He continues to threaten Canada’s economy and sovereignty. His inhuman decisions on human rights already ripple across the border. Meta’s recent policy changes are just a preview of the global harm these actions will inflict.
Their new guidelines now permit women to be referred to as objects or household items and allow transgender individuals to be dehumanized by being called “it.” Additionally, under their relaxed guidelines, LGBTQ+ identities can be characterized as mental illnesses, and they have eliminated their fact-checking department, resulting in mass layoffs.
Edgycat Media has several initiatives planned throughout 2025 that need action from women+ everywhere and we need your help.
